    1. CO@Gary Not sure if IIS is even installed. My application is a desktop application. I'm failing to see why aspnet_regiis would get me any closer to knowing what the problem is.

    2. CO@sskuce I tried the Configuration Tool... Under "Runtime Security Policy" I clicked "Reset All Policy Levels" but that didn't help unfortunately. Also, I'd suspect that .NET would give a better error message if it was a security setting. As for your second suggestion, that's a last resort... it's strange b/c it works on 80% of the customer's computers and they are all managed by the same desktop management utility... so theoretically the environments should be identical to where the application does work properly.

    3. CO"if you want a legal opinion relevant to you, ask a lawyer. Is that unreasonable? Lawyer's opinions differ, it is just a matter on which advice you are satisfied with for your particular situation. In the end, it's only opinions though, not final judgements. In a court case, any interpretation or opinion is irrelevant, the court's ruling would matter. All I can say is that MySQL AB is not a litiguous company. We produce software, not court cases." -- Arjen Lentz, Director@ Open Query http://openquery.com Exceptional Services for MySQL http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?4,1988,142029#msg-142029
