    1. CO"The question is what is worse, a deadlock or a wrong value? For finanical databases, deadlocks are far worse than wrong values" My point exactly. You are defending locking for reasons you just list threads that keep agreeing with me more than you. I don't get it at all.

    2. COYou can choose a 'subscription' to 'Save' reports instead of email them as well. In fact if you don't have an SMTP server defined in your SSRS admin config it will default to this. You just need to ensure the SSRS service account has access to the path you specify. Hover over a report and click the arrow box drop down to select 'Subscribe'. This opens up window. Change combox box from 'Choose method of delivery' to 'Windows File Share'. You now have options to save the report on a time schedule in formats chosen to a particular path.

    3. COJo if you want defaults I generally when working with arrays set up a second dataset to be the default. So when in step B you set up a temp table of ALL values, set up another dataset to be 'defaults' instead. Then for an additional step go to the parameter like step C except choose 'Default Values' instead. As long as ALL of your default values are in the array of your main list it will succeed. And when your user runs the report they will see these all checked to start. I do defaults in almost all my reports it speeds things up for users.
