    1. COJeff. The issues you face include a shift in the underlying pattern from MVC to MVVM, but this is not as radical as it might seem. You will be working with a new language and with new language features, in a new development environment.     2. COSlightly concerned that you are saying the stack panel cannot be stretched; can you show the code? You can certainly set the stack panel's vert/horiz alignment to stretch and then put in a couple controls or even just one. Perhaps I've just misunderstood. -jesse

    3. COFirst, thank you of course for the very kind words. I can't begin to know whether learning a programming language has any process or structural analogs to learning a "natural" language, though it might be an interesting experiment to see if there is an ideal age and if that age is about the same time as language acquisition (I would be surprised). IAC, while I can't comment on which book <smile> I do agree that a good intro & practice & (if you can get it) a mentor is a successful path for many. On books all I'll say is review before you buy. -jesse
