copied!<p>I'm a software engineer, and one of the co-founders and directors at Joan: a user experience design agency, and Tiller: a productivity hardware and software startup. I work with a wide range of clients to help build digital products, apps, and data driven platforms.</p> <p>Specifically this means I build applications, APIs and platforms for mobile devices, the web, and desktop. Security, performance, architecture, technical strategy, and well executed user experiences underpin most of what I do as an engineer. When I don't have my engineer hat on, you can also find me pretty involved with user experience design, product design, and planning product roadmaps.</p> <p>For those interested in more technical detail: Previously I've built products using Swift, Objective C, NodeJS and C#. Today, I work mostly with Javascript, Flow, React, and Relay for front-end development. And GraphQL, and Scala, on top of Akka's actor model and reactive streams implementations for back-end development. I work extensively with cloud-based platforms including AWS, Auth0, and Firebase. I've built and managed automated CI/CD pipelines, and have worked with data on top of RDBMS and NoSQL data stores.</p> <p>Although a software engineer at heart, I work best when I'm in a multidisciplinary team. I believe that a combination of good design, disciplined product management, sound business, and forward-thinking engineering is what it takes to solve problems at scale, and take meaningful products to market.</p>
