The problem is that everytime I run the application, it hangs on this call . Its not throwing any exception or error . It just hangs at that point. Can anyone help in identifying why it does not move forward ?

1. COThis just happened to me. Turns out it was creating an index, which took a loooooong time. I found this out by using the MySQL Workbench to inspect active connections and their running queries.
