    <p>I am having a problem with my ipad app.</p> <p>I've got a view that is accessed in 2 ways, if i go in one way it works perfectly. If I go in through another though, it crashes when saving the context.</p> <p>I suspect it is something in the parent (orders by customer) -- I get a zombie with the message:</p> <p>[OrdersByCustomer     1. CONot sure why, but it seems like the problems were in the actual managedobjectcontext from the beginning of the program. I went through and added [managedObjectContext release]; managedObjectContext = nil; in the [dealloc]'s along the way and it seems to have cured it (for now). Why? Don't know. . .

    2. CODon't know the rest of your code but I had exactly the same problem. An UITableView populated with entity. What was (apparently) causing the problem, selecting a record on a table view and passing the NSManagedObject entity as param to the detail view controller. I solved passing instead the NSManagedObjectID and fetching the object from the store.

A row detail

Detail views are divided into sections. All the information in the data section comes from columns in the selected row. The other sections display data from other, related rows.

Related data can be related in a to-one or a to-many fashion. Captions of data related in a to-many fashion link to a list view showing a filtered view of the table.

Try moving around until you find a non-empty to-many entry and click on the label to get to one. You can move back to the root by clicking on the database name in the header.
