    <p>At my school I want to automate the process of telling the students to go to class and play a song five minutes before class starts at the end of lunch.</p> <p>I wrote a Bash script that will play the announcement, a random song. After five minutes the script will fade out the music and kill VLC. I need this script run on Windows as the is the OS used for announcements.     2. COThe problems I am having is not knowing the first think about Batch. If someone told me how to fade audio and wait from the time VLC starts for five minutes before moving to the next step. I didn't post this expecting people to port this for me (but that would be amazing), I posted this for help on Batch.

    3. COYou can save `$!` after starting vlc in the background to make sure you kill exactly the right process. (See "Special Parameters" in bash's manpage.)
