<p>I'm referring to <a href="https://stackoverflow.com/questions/600795/asynchronous-vs-multithreading-is-there-a-difference/600950#600950">this</a> answer where it says it's not required, there are few specific assumptions though. 1. COCan you post some information on the interface to your external API? The answer depends on this. 'calling an external API and waiting for the reply' sounds synchronous, so clarification would be helpful.

2. COYou can ignore 'and waiting for reply'. By that I just meant that we are not doing any other operation (high resource consuming hard disc or complex calculation) in the same process/same system.
