    <p>This is related to <a href="https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1299013/problem-using-mysqldb-symbol-not-found-mysql-affected-rows">a previous question</a>.</p> <p>However, the main posted solution there is not working for me. I'm on Snow Leopard, using the 32-bit 5.1.49 MySQL dmg install. <strike>I'm using the built in python</strike> (apparently, as noted in the comments, my Python version is different), which appears to be 2.6.5 32-bit:</p> <pre> Python 2.6.5 (r265:79359, Mar 24 2010, 01:32:55) [GCC 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5493)] on darwin Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import sys >>> sys.maxint 2147483647 </pre> <p>I've downloaded MySQL-python 1.2.3 from <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/mysql-python/" rel="nofollow noreferrer">the usual location</a> and changed site.cfg so that mysql_config points to the right place and the registry_key directive is commented out.     1. CONote, you are not using the Apple-supplied Python 2.6 on 10.6. That's at `/usr/bin/python` and is currently Python 2.6.1. That one is a 64-bit/32-bit universal build. You're most likely using the 32-bit-only Python 2.6 from the python.org installer (installed at /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework ...) and with a link from /usr/local/bin/python2.6.
