    <p>For those of you trying to understand jqGrid custom edit types ...</p> <p>I created a multi-checkbox form element, and thought I'd share. This was built using version 3.6.4.     1. COcan you clarify how you are passing in selected values. what is this: val.indexOf(elem[i].value + '|') doing ??

    2. CO@ooo - jqGrid populates the "value" parameter with the contents of the cell that is being opened for edit. In this example, the cell contains the pipe-delimited list of the selected items (as stored in my database). In MultiCheckVal, The code you referenced checks each INPUT tag in "elem" to see if its content is in the pipe-delimited cell content (passed in "val"). Hope this helps.

A row detail

Detail views are divided into sections. All the information in the data section comes from columns in the selected row. The other sections display data from other, related rows.

Related data can be related in a to-one or a to-many fashion. Captions of data related in a to-many fashion link to a list view showing a filtered view of the table.

Try moving around until you find a non-empty to-many entry and click on the label to get to one. You can move back to the root by clicking on the database name in the header.
