I have a C programming question. I want to know the difference between the two and where one is useful over other? Suppose I have a struct called employee as below: <pre><code>struct emp{ char first_name[10]; char last_name[10]; char key[10]; }; </code></pre> Now, I want to store the table of employee records, then which method should I use: <ol> <li><code>struct emp e1[100]; // Or</code></li> <li><code>struct emp * e1[100];</code></li> </ol> I know the two are not same but would like to know a use case where second declaration would be of interest and more advantageous to use. Can someone clarify?

2. COI've changed "doubt" in your question to "question". Apparently, there are some languages that use the same word for the English words "doubt" and "question"; here on SO, "question" is almost always the word you want.
