I believe this is called a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Force-based_algorithms" rel="nofollow noreferrer">force-directed radial tree graph</a>. Here are a few highlights from google: <ol> <li>You might be able to adapt something from <a href="http://flare.prefuse.org" rel="nofollow noreferrer">Flare</a> (see <a href="http://flare.prefuse.org/demo" rel="nofollow noreferrer">Demo</a>->Layouts->Force and Layouts->Radial for examples that nearly do what you want).</li> <li><a href="http://birdeye.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ravis/RaVisExamples/example-binaries/RaVisExplorer.html#" rel="nofollow noreferrer">Birdeye</a>, in particular the RaVis Explorer (Flex component).</li> <li>Have a look at <a href="http://www.spicynodes.org/index.html" rel="nofollow noreferrer">spicynodes</a> - its proprietary flash code, but there's a free version for individual use.</li> <li>There's a free but less pretty version which is part of the <a href="http://openlaszlo-coder.blogspot.com/2009/12/force-directed-graph-using-openlaszlo.html" rel="nofollow noreferrer">OpenLaszlo</a> framework.</li> <li>There's also <a href="http://asterisq.com/" rel="nofollow noreferrer">Constellation</a>, but it's a $550 license, so not much use if you're looking for something free :)</li> </ol> See also <a href="https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2119357/web-visualisations-for-data">this SO question</a>, which was about flash visualisation in general.
