    <p>What I am trying to do is plot a line chart that displays the comparative values amongst a few countries. The chart I get is:</p> <p><img src="https://i.stack.imgur.com/inkNu.jpg" alt="enter image description here"></p> <p>The problem here is that both shapes and colours are listed in the legend. I want the legend to be just a combination of the group(using shape) and colour for that country. I can't really break this down even though I spent quite a long time on this.</p>

    2. COI think you are trying to put too much information on a one chart. It will be very difficult to identify the countries from the colors of the lines for example. Maybe you should try some faceting, or plotting averaged values depending on the group ?

    3. COTechnically, since the x axis is categorical, it's a parallel coordinates plot, not a line chart.
