    <p>I am trying to setup a R cluster on AWS using StarCluster and lateron BioCoductor AMI. The objective is to run some parallel computations on multiple nodes using snow.</p> <p>However I am already stuck at the beginning in installing StarCluster on WINDOWS 7 64bit (probably the reason).</p> <p>What did I do: (<a href="http://star.mit.edu/cluster/docs/latest/installation.html" rel="nofollow">http://star.mit.edu/cluster/docs/latest/installation.html</a>)</p> <ol> <li>Install Python 2.7.5</li> <li>added the c:\Pyhton\Scripts directory to PATH (and even restarted)</li> <li>installed setuptools 0.6rc11</li> <li>pycrypto 2.3</li> <li>opened a CMD prompt in c:\Python\Scripts and executed: easy_install StarCluster</li> </ol> <p>However it ends with an error.
