Personally I don't like TableLayout as it's unpredictable and troublesome, particularly when using merged columns, colspan.     1. COmy parent cell is a TableRow. I've tried your solution 1, because TableRow extends Linear Layout but it does not work. 1st, it suddenly fills the whole vertical screen height and 2nd, it is not horizontally centered. The "dummy Views" just act as a margin to the TextView. I've also tried wrapping the TextView with a RelativeView insinde the TableRow, but your solution doesn't center anything in this case.

    3. COThanks for your response. I've already tried this. The Problem is, that those empty Views act like a 37,5% padding of the text view. This results in the TextView not beeing actually centered by it's content.

Guidance
A row detail

Detail views are divided into sections. All the information in the data section comes from columns in the selected row. The other sections display data from other, related rows.

Related data can be related in a to-one or a to-many fashion. Captions of data related in a to-many fashion link to a list view showing a filtered view of the table.

Try moving around until you find a non-empty to-many entry and click on the label to get to one. You can move back to the root by clicking on the database name in the header.
