    2. COYou have to either pass the variable as a parameter to the request or store it in the session. If these approaches give you errors then you need to provide details of what you are trying and the errors you are getting in your question.

COJust to be clear: If you want to to store this data and use it in a different *request*, then it needs to be in either session or some kind of external storage like a db or in the filesystem. Any data stored as a class member or even as a global variable will be lost on a subsequent request.
