    <p>After I did brew update and brew upgrade, my postgres got some problem. Hope anyone have a better solution</p> <p><strong>Update</strong></p> <p>This works for me as well.</p> <pre><code>rm /usr/local/var/postgres/postmaster.pid </code></pre>

    1. COI am having your exact same problem, but your solution did not work for me. I think this is a permissions problem but I don't have the knowledge of file permissions to fix it.

    2. COFor are those who install PG via Homebrew and are having problems, I found another answer. Just uninstall pg gem and reinstall with Homebrew configs. See the answer at http://stackoverflow.com/a/19609228/1072058.
