POCan AutoMapper be used in an MVC3 application on Windows Azure with BootStrapper(.AutoMapper)?

    <p>I am attempting to deploy a fairly simple MVC3 application to Windows Azure. No matter what I seem to do, I never end up with a "Healthy" deployment. So I installed VS Ultimate just to try and access InteliTrace and discovered that AutoMapper was not found: Unable to load the role entry point due to the following exceptions: --System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'AutoMapper, version 2.0.0.232 ...</p> <p>Now, I have made absolute sure that the AutoMapper reference is set to copy local (along with the other references that I need) ... and still no joy. I also downloaded the deployed website (from my Azure VM) and loaded that into IIS. The deployed version works fine and includes all the DLLs (AutoMapper, Bootstrapper, Bootstrapper.AutoMapper). Finally, if I log into the VM, I can actually access the application running on localhost using the IE7 browser.</p> <p>What could I be missing in order to get Azure to think the deployment is OK? Is the BootStrapper app loading AutoMapper via reflection and does not find the AutoMapper dll? Any other suggestions? (I plan on downloading the BootStrapper code and seeing if that could be a problem tomorrow, but thought others may have a suggestion!)</p> <p>Thanks in advance for any direction pointing! </p> <p>Alon</p> <p>Update: resolved</p>

    1. COThat was it! I downloaded the source code for the Bootstrapper I was using and swapped out the dependency on AutoMapper to the most recent version. I figure I can make architecture mistakes, but was not expecting it from others!

    2. COAssuming you are talking about bootstrap.codeplex.com. Notice that Automapper is included in the actual assembly using ILMerge. Download the source and build - it produces only 2 files (.exe and exe.config). Those are the only ones you need to deploy. That was intentional, btw.

    3. COI was actually using bootstrapper.codeplex.com (maybe not the best choice, but I like it for making my global.asax file clean). bootstrapper appeared to not like the latest AutoMapper. So I just swapped it out (again, maybe not the best solution, but I needed to get the site deployed).
