    copied!<p>When I deploy my web service, I get the following error:</p> <p>There is no build provider registered for the extension '.svc'. You can register one in the section in machine.config or web.config. Make sure is has a BuildProviderAppliesToAttribute attribute which includes the value 'Web' or 'All'.</p> <p>I found one thread (<a href="http://forums.asp.net/t/1228638.aspx" rel="nofollow noreferrer">http://forums.asp.net/t/1228638.aspx</a>) that suggested a solution but, I can not get it to work. If I make the changes to my web config file as suggested in the thread, I then get a configuration error. One odd thing is that, if I check the machine.config file on my machine, located at C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\machine.config, I don't see any of the config settings described in the thread. As a matter of fact, there is no mention of "compilation" or "buildProviders" at all. </p> <p>The on-line documents I have found regarding BuildProviderAppliesToAttribute have not been of any help.</p> <p>Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.</p> <p>Here is my entire config file listing:</p> <pre><code> &lt;?xml version="1.0"?&gt;
