  1. POWav file clipping when playing audio file in MATLAB

    copied!<p>Here's my problem. I'm implementing high and low pass filers in the continuous time and discrete time domain, without using MATLAB built in functions or the Signal Processing Toolbox. I need to filter an uploaded wav file. I have the following code which implements the low pass continuous time filter. The main problem is that when I go to play the file, I get the following error:</p> <blockquote> <p>Warning: Data clipped during write to file:flute_new In wavwrite>PCM_Quantize at 286</p> <p>In wavwrite>write_wavedat at 302</p> <p>In wavwrite at 139</p> <p>In test2 at 23 </p> </blockquote> <p>I've been reading that a common solution to this problem is: signal = signal/max(abs(signal)), but that still doesn't fix the problem of clipping. I updated my code as suggested in the comments, but when I check the w values, I still have a w=1 at the end. The suggested code did eliminate the clipping warning, but the playback of the audio file through the speakers still has clipping. Maybe I'm understanding the concept wrong.
